Cardiopulmonary resuscitation, also known as CPR, is an emergency life-saving technique that’s performed when the heart stops beating. More than 350,000 cardiac arrests occur outside of hospital walls annually, which makes bystander CPR extremely important. Immediate CPR can double or triple the chances of a person’s survival.
If you’re looking to learn this vital skill, be sure to register to attend one of two ‘Friends and Family’ CPR classes being hosted by the Morris Community YMCA and Morris Hospital and Healthcare Centers later this month.
- Saturday, May 11 9-11:30 a.m.
- Wednesday, May 15 6-8:30 p.m.
Both classes will be held at Shabbona Middle School, located at 725 School Street in Morris. Cost is $5 per person. These classes are open to area residents, ages 12 and older.
