    • Evacuees with an out-of-state YMCA membership: Through the YMCA’s Nationwide Membership Program, you are welcome at any YMCA.
    • Evacuees without a YMCA membership: You are welcome to join us. Upon arrival, please check in at the Y with your State ID.

  • Greater Joliet Area YMCA Named Top Workplace in Will County


    The Greater Joliet Area YMCA was selected as a Top Workplace in Will County by the Joliet Herald-News. In a poll voted on by readers of the Herald-News, the Y was the top vote-getter in the Non-Profit Organization category.

    Stacy Broske of the Herald-News presented the award Monday, September 17, at the Greater Joliet Area YMCA Metropolitan Offices, located at 749 Houbolt Road. President and CEO James Watts was joined by Senior Vice President and COO Katy Leclair and Human Resources Director Adriana Garcia to accept the award on behalf of the Y.   • New Group Fitness Opportunities

    The Galowich Family YMCA is adding more Group Fitness opportunities during Fall Session 2, which is set to begin Monday, October 1. YMCA Members can preview these new offerings early, between September 25-28. As a reminder, these classes are FREE with a YMCA membership!

    Zumba 
    Tuesday, September 25, 6-6:30 p.m.

    Pound (NEW!)

    • Wednesday, September 26, 6-6:30 p.m.
    • Thursday, September 27, Noon-12:30 p.m.

    A full-body cardio jam session of a workout inspired by drumming. Participants use weighted drumsticks that are engineered for exercise to burn calories and tone while rocking out to popular music.

    Cardio Ball & Tone (NEW!)
    Thursday, September 27, 9:30-10:10 a.m.

    During this cardio-focused class, participants will use a large Swiss exercise ball to add strength and toning elements to each workout routine.

    Boot Camp

  • Yoga For Youth: Starting October 1

    Open to Ages 6-12

    Yoga for Youth is a great introduction to the world of yoga. Starting this fall at the Galowich Family YMCA, this program is perfect for beginners who want to experience the many benefits that yoga has to offer.

    When kids play sports, they do more than just exercise. Besides being physically active, they develop higher self-esteem, perform better in school and work better in groups.

    Our Youth Basketball Program teaches kids the fundamentals of the game while emphasizing the importance of teamwork. Above all, kids who play YMCA basketball have a lot of fun!
