SEPTEMBER 9-14
Get ready to celebrate a week full of Peace, Love, and Fitness! We are going back to the groovy hippie days – a time of flower power, harmony, and good vibes. Can you dig it?
Each time you attend a group exercise class between September 9-14, you will earn an entry into a raffle for a special prize. You’ll also earn a bonus entry if you come dressed in your own hippie themed threads! So get out your tie-dye, peace signs, and fringed vests for an exciting week of group fitness classes!
Do you know someone who is looking to try the Y for the first time? Share the Y by inviting a friend or family member to use one of your guest passes or encourage them to download a one-time free day pass.
If you have any questions, please contact Health & Wellness Director Ro Petersen at (815) 513-8080, ext. 517 or via email at [email protected].
Adam Brown has been a member of the C.W. Avery Family YMCA for more than 15 years and, if there is one thing those in the Y community know about him, it’s how much he loves to swim.
This week marks the start of the 2024-2025 school year and the Y is ready to once again welcome students into our before and after school Kid Zone program! Before and After Care Director Lori Barrie is starting her first year at the helm of the C.W. Avery Family YMCA’s Kid Zone program in Plainfield School District 202. We are so excited to have Lori on the Y team. You can learn more about her in the Q&A below!
Join the YMCA for a morning of joy, support, and celebration as we create a welcoming space for swimmers of all abilities. Designed to be inclusive and accommodating for kids with diverse sensory needs and their families, YMCA Sensory-Friendly Swims will feature a quiet environment with no music and little-to-no whistle use by our lifeguards. The water features in the Family Pool will also be turned off during this time.
