Try The Y’s Swim Lesson Selector

As we continue to celebrate National Water Safety Month, and with our Summer 1 programming session just around the corner, the Y is excited to remind members of our Swim Lesson Selector tool. Available online, this tool is a must-try for parents who are interested in enrolling their children in YMCA swim lessons.

By answering short “yes-or-no” questions—and in some cases, by watching a short video—the Swim Lesson Selector can help you quickly identify which swim stage is right for your child.

Make A Splash This Summer

Enroll in summer day camp swimming lessons

Your child can take his/her swimming skills to the next level by enrolling in summer day camp swim lessons, designed exclusively for campers. To ensure campers will not miss any field trips, classes will meet on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

On the first day of lessons, campers will be swim tested and placed in a class according to their swimming ability. We highly recommend registering campers each week they are enrolled in camp so they can continue to improve their skills and swimming endurance.

Camp swim lessons run from June 5-August 11.

C.W. Avery Family YMCA Expansion to Begin in Spring 2017

To better accommodate the needs of our growing membership base, we are very excited to announce that the Y will be completing several renovation projects at the C.W. Avery Family YMCA in the next 12 months.

  • Beginning later this spring, the parking lot will be expanded to include an additional 150 spaces. Construction is anticipated to be completed this summer.
  • In the coming months, renovations will also begin on the Wellness Center. In addition to significantly increasing the square-footage of the Wellness Center, the Y will be adding new group exercise space and increasing the number of cardio and strength machines available to members. This new space will provide health seekers with limitless opportunities to train smarter and more effectively. Construction will get underway this summer and is expected to be completed in early 2018.

Thank you in advance for your patience and cooperation during our construction period. We look forward to celebrating the grand opening of these new spaces with you in 2018.
