We know that learning doesn’t end when the school bell rings. The way your children spend time before and after school can make a big difference in their personal development and your family-life balance. At the YMCA, kids engage in a variety of exciting physical and imaginative activities that encourage them to explore who they are and what they can achieve.
The YMCA's Kid Zone program provides care for students who attend Joliet, Troy, and Rockdale school districts. Both before and after care is available Monday through Friday on school days, except where noted. View school sites for the 2026-27 school year and register online using the dropdown options below.

*A $50 registration fee is required. Participants may start attending Kid Zone four business days after the day registration is completed. Kid Zone payments will be paid monthly via automatic withdrawal from a checking account or debit/credit card.

As part of the YMCA’s continued partnership with the State of Illinois Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP), the Y is required to keep up-to-date immunization records or documented exemptions on file for all children receiving CCAP funding in our Kid Zone program. This documentation is required to maintain your child’s enrollment and to ensure our program remains in compliance with Illinois and Federal Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF) Health and Safety Standards. We appreciate your cooperation in helping us keep our records current by submitting your child’s immunization record when registering for the Y's Kid Zone program.
Sign-In/Sign-Out Procedures
When dropping off or picking up your child(ren) at Kid Zone, please look for the YMCA magnet that says ‘Kid Zone Entrance.’ At most school sites, the Kid Zone entrance can be found near the gymnasium doors.
Please note:
- KidZone participants must be signed-in and out by a Parent/Guardian or an individual, ages 16 and older, who is listed on the student’s Authorized Pick Drop Off/Pick Up list.
- Prior to the start of KidZone, please be sure to check your child's registration to ensure that ALL individuals (including parents/guardians) who are able to pick up AND drop off are in your "authorized pick ups." We will be utilizing electronic sign-in/out, and ALL authorized persons must be added. This will help ensure that the first week of sign-in/out runs even more smoothly.

*Select "Authorized Pick Ups"
- Parents, guardians, and all others listed on the authorized drop off/pick up list will be asked to show a PICTURE ID when picking up their child(ren) each day. To avoid delays, please have your ID ready when picking up your student.
