The Greater Joliet Area YMCA is the perfect place to celebrate Halloween in a safe and family-friendly environment. Mark your calendars and plan to join us at one of our four Halloween events across Will and Grundy Counties.

All events are free and open to the community.

C.W. Avery Family YMCA
Saturday, October 28, 12:30-3:30 p.m.

The C.W. Avery Family YMCA’s Halloween Spooktacular is a community favorite. Join us for Trunk-or-Treating and other ghoulishly delightful activities.

Main Events

  • Trunk-or-Treating (until 2:30 p.m.)
  • Haunted House (starting at 1:30 p.m.)
  • Balloon Animals (1:30-3 p.m.)

Featured Activities:

  • Hay Rack Rides
  • Bounce House Fun
  • Petting Zoo
  • Temporary Tattoos

Please note: In the case of inclement weather, some activities will be canceled and other activities will be moved inside the YMCA.

Galowich Family YMCA
Friday, October 13, starting at Dusk

Head to the Galowich Family YMCA on Friday the 13th for a special screening of Goosebumps (2015). Weather permitting, this special holiday event will be held outdoors. Please dress accordingly and bring a blanket or chairs.

Morris Community YMCA
Saturday, October 21, Noon-2 p.m.

The Morris YMCA will be hosting its third annual Halloween bash at White Oak Elementary School.

Costumes are highly encouraged. The north parking lot will be filled with local businesses, including our partners from Morris Hospital, for trunk-or-treating.

Activities and attractions include:

  • Trunk or Treating: Noon to 2 p.m.
  • Bounce House: Noon to 2 p.m.
  • Monster Dash at 12:15 p.m.
  • Hip-Hop Fit Demo at 1 p.m.
  • Face painting
  • Grundy County Command Vehicle
  • Morris Fire Department

Free and open to all. In the case of inclement weather, festivities will be moved inside White Oak’s gym.

Smith Family YMCA
Friday, October 27, 7-8:30 p.m.

Come dressed in your costume for Joliet’s best Trunk-or-Treat event! The Smith Family YMCA parking lot will be filled with decorated cars for children to safely trick-or-treat and play games.
