Due to the COVID-19 crisis, our Y is facing unprecedented times that have left our organization closed for the duration of the stay-at-home order. However, our resolve to support our staff members who may need extra assistance during this critical time, is unwavering.
At the Y, we believe that our staff teams are our greatest asset. They are the backbone of our organization, and the people who make our mission come to life each and every day.
To assist our employees during this time, the Greater Joliet Area YMCA has established the Caring for our Staff Emergency Relief Fund. Made possible thanks to the generosity of corporate and individual donors, this fund was created to support YMCA staff who are experiencing financial hardship as a result of the COVID-19 health crisis.
Employees who have immediate financial needs can apply to receive up to $100 in assistance through the Caring for our Staff Emergency Relief Fund. This assistance can be used to secure food, essential living supplies, and medical needs for employees and their loved ones.
- Applicant must be a YMCA employee who has had work eliminated due to our COVID-19-related facility closure.
- Applicant must have been employed with the YMCA for at least 2 weeks prior to our COVID-19-related facility closure.
Employees are limited to one request for assistance per household. Requests will be reviewed by the Human Resource Department within 48 hours and employees will be notified about the status of their request for assistance by email within 3-4 business days of the request being reviewed.
