Greater Joliet Area Family YMCA
Giving

Last Update: April 26, 2007

The Greater Joliet Area YMCA is a non-profit organization serving more than 14,000 members and participants in Will County, Grundy County and the surrounding areas. Our mission is to put Christian Principles into practice by developing relationships through programs that build healthy spirit, mind, and body. For over 78 years, we have been providing relationships, programs and facilities that strengthen children, families and the community. All our programs and services are based on the Christian character values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. In 2006 the YMCA provided over $1,042,500 in financial assistance to those who could not afford YMCA programs and services. Over 5,000 youth, 228 families, and 370 seniors reviewed financial assistance toward membership at our branches allowing them to enjoy many ways to stay healthy in mind, body and spirit. Over 1,100 children participate in programs at our Central City branch which offers District 86 students positive, safe activity options during the afterschool hours. To find out more about the many ways we impacted the community last year, click here to view our Annual Report.

To help us maintain our mission, we rely on generous donors who make it possible for us to keep program fees at a minimum and to provide financial assistance to those in need. There are four primary avenues of giving, Annual Campaign, Capital Campaigns, Endowment Funds, and Planned Giving. Each has a link below that tells more about that particular way to help support the YMCA. For more information on our many ways to give, or to make a donation to the Greater Joliet Area YMCA, contact Tami Sender, President/CEO, at 815-729-9638 X311. Those in need of Financial Assistance for them or someone they know, can find more information on the Financial Assistance link below or by contacting their branch through the link at the bottom of our homepage.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT OF THE YMCA.
